Job Description

The Chew Valley Hoard is the largest Norman coin hoard ever discovered. Its acquisition by the South West Heritage Trust in 2024 has inspired a multi-stranded project that includes the creation of a new permanent gallery at the Museum of Somerset in Taunton, a year-long temporary exhibition at the Museum of Somerset, and an ambitious two-year programme of community engagement, co-creation and learning activities.

This is a high-profile project, which is targeted to directly engage 8,787 people across Somerset and beyond and to reach another 682,575 people including through digital means.

The South West Heritage Trust is an independent charity which provides heritage services across Somerset and Devon. We run two Archive and Local Studies services and three museums, including the Museum of Somerset, and look after Somerset’s historic environment, including over 400 acres of historic landscapes.
