Job Summary

The Early Career Theatre Maker is an 18 months position that enables an early career theatre maker of any age to lead workshops, dramaturge new pieces, direct R&Ds and participate in the overall planning of FIO.

Job Description

Fio is a forward-thinking theatre company based in Cardiff. We are interested in art, artists and ideas. We work with Global Majority artists to wrestle and reinvent the theatrical cannon and create new works that challenge, provoke, and inspire.
We shape and shake culture in Wales beyond representation. We do this by providing pathways and opportunities for Global Majority artists to develop, create and experience bold and imaginative theatre that engages with communities and technology.
Our work is at the centre of contemporary Welsh culture and identity.

We particularly welcome applications from people from the Global Majority, who are currently under represented in our sector in Wales.

Job Requirements

Person Specification

Essential:
A passion and knowledge of contemporary live theatre.
Experience coordinating projects.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Digital literacy.
Strong communication skills.

Desirable:
A passion and knowledge of contemporary live theatre
Arts administration experience.
Understanding of the theatre sector.
Experience in outreach or youth programmes
