Job Description

The Welcome Team are the first point of contact for visitors and are integral to the overall experience visitors have while at the museum. As Welcome Team Supervisor, you will support the Welcome Team Coordinator in leading the museum’s Welcome Team, helping to create and embed a thriving culture of exceptional customer service and sales performance, delivering a great welcome for our visitors and working closely with wider museum colleagues to help deliver exceptional experiences for visitors everyday.

You and the wider team will be responsible for dealing with all types of visitor admissions and enquiries, working towards agreed sales, gift aid and membership targets, as well as being present in the wider museum spaces, actively engaging with visitors, sharing your knowledge and stories and helping bring the place alive as part of a vibrant, forward-thinking museum. Working as part of the Welcome Team, your work will help put the visitor at the heart of everything we do.

Some weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required, as well as some evening work for events, previews, etc.

Job Requirements

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person that is passionate about creating great experiences for our visitors. You will be a visible advocate for the museum, pro-actively meeting, greeting and confidently sharing our stories with visitors. A champion of great customer service, you will help ensure every visitor leaves the museum having had an amazing day out.

As the Supervisor of one of the core visitor-facing teams, you will be leading in demonstrating the museum’s values and behaviours in your daily work. You will have strong sales and people management skills, the ability to problem-solve and be responsive in a busy and dynamic sales environment. You will also be passionate about supporting and developing a staff team.
