The Star Project is looking for a passionate and organised Project Leader to oversee a theatre project, support students and staff, manage communication, and help grow the project within a positive and inspiring performing arts environment.

Job Description

The Star Project is looking for a passionate, organised, and proactive Project Leader to oversee and grow one of our theatre projects.

This role includes leading weekly project sessions on Tuesday evenings at Cofton Hackett Village Hall, supporting students and staff, managing parent communication, supporting recruitment and retention, and helping guide the project towards a successful production.
Additional flexible administration work from home is included each week.

Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the week-to-week running of the project
* Leading and supporting Project Team Members
* Planning sessions and rehearsal schedules
* Supporting creative teaching where required
* Communicating with parents and welcoming new families
* Supporting student recruitment and retention
* Completing project administration and reports
* Supporting social media and promotional tasks
* Supporting rehearsals, productions, and performances
* Creating a positive and professional environment for students and families

We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children and young people
* Has performing arts and/or teaching experience
* Is organised, proactive, and confident leading a team
* Has strong communication and customer service skills
* Uses initiative and works well independently
* Is passionate about theatre education and helping young performers thrive

This is a self-employed/freelance role. In-project delivery is paid at £25-£30 per hour depending on experience, with administration paid at £12.71 per hour. Additional show day pay would apply.

Job Requirements

* Experience working with children and young people
* Performing arts and/or teaching experience
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* Confident communication and customer service skills
* Ability to use initiative and problem solve independently
* Passionate about theatre education and supporting young performers
* Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment
* Confident using:
* Emails
* Google Drive
* Dropbox
* Microsoft Office
* Social media platforms
* Professional, reliable, and proactive attitude
* DBS check required
* Weekend availability during show periods required

Desirable
* Driving licence
* Safeguarding experience
* First aid training
* Experience leading theatre groups or productions
* Administrative experience
* Social media and promotional experience
* Experience with student recruitment and retention
