Greenwich Theatre

Job Summary

Greenwich Theatre is looking for a designer to join the company for this year’s Panto – Jack and The Beanstalk – to provide both set and costume designs. The successful candidate will have experience of designing for either pantomime or musical theatre.

Job Description

Over the past 19 years Greenwich Theatre has built a reputation as one of the most innovative pantomime producers in the capital. From the multiple award winning team, most recently Winners of Best Script and Best Pantomime at the UK Pantomime Awards 2025, the theatre’s celebrity-free shows are fast-paced, funny, highly musical ensemble shows, and with writer Anthony Spargo and musical director Steve Markwick back, this year will be no exception.

We are now looking for a new designer to join the company for this year’s show – a new take on Jack and the Beanstalk – to provide both set and costume designs. The successful candidate will have experience of designing for either pantomime or musical theatre, will have a strong sense of humour and an ability to integrate humour into visual designs, and will have a love of glitter. They will also be excited by the prospect of designing to a fixed structural specification – with limited flying and wing space, the base structure will be a revolve split into three locations.

This is a fixed term contract so exact working hours vary in the lead up to tech/fit up weeks. But it is expected that during that period a full 40 hours per week will be required. Total hours for the entire conract will not exceed 200 hours.

Dates – Fixed Contract from August to November 2026.

Apply by 7 August July * Recruitment for this role is on a rolling basis and applications will close when we have found a suitable candidate. This may be before the advertised deadline so you are advised to apply as soon as you are able.
