This role is responsible for Amber’s Music Services: Little Amber, AmberPlus, With Music in Mind, and Amber Together.
The postholder will be confident and sensitive when liaising with the families of children with a range of disabilities, including those with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
A commitment to ensuring Amber’s Safeguarding and GDPR principles are adhered to is essential.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in music and working with children and families. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our small and friendly core team, whilst managing a cohort of freelance music practitioners across the UK.
Job Requirements
We’re looking for:
– someone educated to degree level, preferably in music, education, SEN or similar.
– Experience of working with children with disabilities, preferably blind and partially sighted children including those who are neurodivergent, those with severe learning disabilities, and profound and multiple disabilities.
– Experience of working with children and families in the community.
– Experience of managing freelance arts practitioners.
– Experience of working with schools, partner organisations, charities, and professionals.
– Enthusiastic about providing music opportunities to children and families.
– A commitment to inclusive practices.
– The ability to work sensitively with families of children with a vision impairment, including those with additional disabilities.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently with a wide range of people.
