The Royal College of Music is seeking to appoint an HR Advisor who will lead a small team responsible for day-to-day operational HR processes, including payroll inputting, pensions administration and recruitment.
The successful candidate will use their experience in HR operations to ensure the delivery of a consistently excellent standard of service to all stakeholders and will continually look for ways to improve. It is essential that applicants have a working knowledge of HR databases, ideally iTrent, have an understanding of job evaluation, and an up to date understanding of employment law. The HR Advisor will be expected to deliver professional advice on employment policies, casework, and best practice. Working closely with the Deputy Head of HR and Head of HR, this is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to expand their knowledge and experience in a small, friendly team.

Salary: Grade 7, £39,608 – £43,975 per annum. Appointments will normally be made to the first point of the grade.
Job Requirements
– Experience working within an HR environment
– Strong working knowledge of current UK employment legislation and best practice
– Experience using HR databases and reporting software
– Knowledge of pensions administration processes including, starters and leavers, re-enrolment, salary sacrifice, ill health retirement and death in service
– Understanding of job evaluation, trained as a HERA role analyst or willing to undertake training
– Strong time management and administrative skills
– Flexible, organised and agile approach to work
– High level of written and spoken communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
– Strong Microsoft IT skills including Word and Excel
– Keen attention to detail
– Confidence in providing diplomatic advice and guidance on routine HR matters and able to deal effectively with staff at all levels, including Directorate, Heads of Faculties and hourly paid professors
