Director of the Gewandhaus

The Gewandhaus Orchestra – the oldest civic orchestra in the world – and the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig are among Europe’s most significant cultural brands. From the 2028/29 season on, the City of Leipzig is seeking an experienced leader to further the artistic, organisational, and commercial development of the Gewandhaus, working closely with the Gewandhauskapellmeister and assuming overall responsibility for 185 musicians and around 90 staff across the other departments.

We are seeking an individual with extensive leadership experience in an internationally re-nowned cultural institution, strategic vision, commercial acumen, and a keen instinct for ar-tistic excellence.
