Job Summary

We are looking for a London based Musical Director to join the development of a new actor musician show. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively on a new piece from its early stages, supporting the development of the music within both the writers’ room and the R&D process.

Job Description

Heavy Metal Badger is a loud, joyful and totally wild new actor musician family show, adapted from Duncan Beedie’s brilliant picture book.

Badger is happiest rocking out to heavy metal at full volume, but not everyone in the forest understands his noisy, headbanging ways. Packed with live music, big laughs and plenty of attitude, the show celebrates being proudly yourself, finding your people and refusing to turn the volume down.

Expect woodland chaos, epic guitar riffs and one seriously rock and roll badger!

Dates
Writers’ room: 14 to 18 September 2026 (10am – 6pm) in Lowesoft travel and accommodation covered. The Musical Director will only be required for two dates during this week. Exact dates will be agreed together.

Preparation: Three additional days. These can be completed independently and flexibly following the writers’ room. (8 hours max per day)

R&D: 24 to 30 October 2026 in London (10am – 6pm)

Fee: £1,262.00
