Musical "AI: Save our souls"
Job Summary
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile performer to play Steve, the introverted but passionate programmer at the heart of our original musical AI: Save Our Souls, premiering in the second week of the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It is a bold, funny, and disturbing story about AI, power, and the fragile weirdness of being human with immersive and multimedia elements. Directed by Victoria Klipova, internationally acclaimed with 30+ productions in 7 countries
About the Role:
Steve is a brilliant, slightly eccentric young coder with a romantic soul and a mission to build the most powerful AI. He is awkward and sweet, but bursts with intensity, intelligence, and heart. The role combines monologue, sung ballad, and rhythm-driven rap – ideal for an actor comfortable with singing, rapping, and movement/dance.
Performance & Rehearsals:
- Rehearsals: Begin in London in June
Performance: 11-16 August, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Week 2)
Compensation:
- The fixed payment for the entire job is £350 (at this stage, the project has limited resources due to being self-funded, but a valuable chance to gain experience and be part of an exciting original production and EdFringe!).
- Accommodation in Edinburgh for the performance week will be provided, and travel expenses within the UK to the city will be covered.
- The expected workload for this role is approximately 40-60 hours in total, distributed over 2,5 months of collaboration.
