Job Description
The Journey (Cradle to Grave) is SPID Theatre’s new Estate Endz (EE) production, exploring the different stages of life through themes of identity, family, community, love, ambition, resilience, loss and legacy.
Developed from community research, oral histories and participant-led devising, the production brings together authentic local voices to tell a powerful, intergenerational story that reflects the experiences of the communities SPID works alongside.
We are looking for a Director who is passionate about collaborative theatre-making and can shape this material into a compelling and emotionally engaging production while ensuring community voices remain at the heart of the creative process.

Job Requirements
Lead rehearsals and direct the cast throughout the rehearsal process.
Collaborate with the writer, dramaturg and creative team to develop the script.
Shape participant-generated material into a cohesive theatrical production.
Support performers in developing confident, truthful performances.
Work closely with designers and production staff to realise the artistic vision.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative and supportive rehearsal environment.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the production throughout rehearsals.
Ensure community voices remain central to the storytelling.
