Lougher Contemporary is a Bristol-based online gallery specialising in editions by leading contemporary artists. We are a small, collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional service, expertise and carefully curated artworks. This is an exciting opportunity for someone in the early stages of their arts career to grow with a business that is evolving and ambitious.
What you’ll be doing
– Invoicing & credit control – Supporting the sales team, you’ll prepare invoices/sales contracts for clients, maintain accurate sales records and track inbound funds.
– Anti-Money Laundering – AML due diligence for HMRC is a vital part of operating as a UK gallery. You’ll be responsible for undertaking checks with the sales team, with oversight from the Managing Director.
– Logistics & Artwork Movement – You’ll keep artworks moving smoothly, coordinating with collectors, fine art specialists/suppliers and our in-house team, maintaining accurate paperwork and staying up to date with HMRC legislation and customs changes.
– CRM & Stock Management – You’ll maintain accurate CRM and artwork records, owning data accuracy and cleanliness.
– Post-Sale Customer Service – you’ll keep clients in the loop about their purchases, and you’ll handle any issues calmly and efficiently, and share learnings with the team.

Job Requirements

Essential
– 2-3 years’ experience in operations, administration or client-facing environment
– Enthusiasm for the art world and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
– Excellent organisation, communication & attention to detail
– Strong customer service skills & commercial awareness
– Good financial literacy
– Confidence with Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
– Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
Desirable
– Commercial gallery or art market experience
– Knowledge of contemporary art, consignments and secondary market sales
– Experience with AML/KYC processes and platforms such as Arcarta
– Understanding of international fine art logistics and customs procedures
– Finance administration, CRM or stock management experience
– Confidence identifying operational improvements
