Job Description
* Manage the gallery’s Instagram accounts, including content planning, scheduling and day-to-day management.
* Coordinate gallery announcements across digital platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and timely delivery.
* Create, manage and schedule email newsletters and other digital communications.
* Update and maintain the Gathering and Glasshouse websites, ensuring all content is accurate and current.
* Track social media performance and prepare regular reports with insights and recommendations.
* Write exhibition texts, press releases and other editorial content for exhibitions, art fairs and gallery initiatives.
* Design and produce exhibition materials, including exhibition texts, graphics and other printed materials.
* Proofread and edit all external communications.
* Ensure consistency of the gallery’s tone of voice and visual identity across all communications.
* Commission external writers and editors where required.
* Update and maintain artist biographies, CVs and supporting materials, such as artist fact sheets, biographies, masterclass materials, and related documentation.
* Coordinate content relating to artist news, museum exhibitions, publications and awards.
* Coordinate exhibition photography and videography in collaboration with artists.
* Edit, retouch and archive artwork and installation imagery.
* Prepare and distribute press releases, press packs and other media materials.
* Respond to press enquiries and coordinate media requests.
* Proactively build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and media contacts to promote exhibitions, projects and external artist activity.
* Maintain and grow press and media contact databases.
* Assist with the planning and delivery of exhibition openings, artist talks and other gallery events.
* Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of gallery activities and special projects.
* Conduct research and maintain archives relating to artists.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience working in the arts sector
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
Outstanding organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
Experience managing and growing social media accounts and digital communications.
Experience using website content management systems.
Experience using Square
Existing network of press contacts
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
Experience with image editing and digital asset management.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
A strong understanding of contemporary art and the commercial gallery sector.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a small, collaborative team.
A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach to work.
