Britten Pears Arts (BPA) is a leading music and arts charity based at Snape Maltings on the Suffolk coast. Through artist development, performance programmes, community engagement, creative health initiatives, and heritage activities at The Red House, BPA uses music, arts and heritage to enrich lives, strengthen communities and create positive social change.
BPA is recruiting tutors for its Advanced Young Musicians (AYM) programme, an innovative initiative designed to develop musicianship through creativity, collaboration and performance. Students work in small and large ensembles, developing aural skills, improvisation, theory, composition, arranging, technique and performance across a range of musical styles.
Tutors are sought in keyboard, woodwind, brass, percussion, strings and composition/arrangement. The role involves coaching advanced young musicians, leading ensemble work, encouraging creativity and improvisation, and supporting students in becoming versatile, well-rounded musicians.
Ideal candidates will be experienced music educators and active musicians with strong ensemble leadership skills, broad stylistic knowledge, excellent musicianship, and a passion for inspiring young people in an inclusive learning environment. Job Requirements
Seeking an experienced and innovative music educator to work with advanced young musicians in the Advanced Young Musicians (AYM) programme at Snape Maltings. Candidates should be active, versatile musicians with experience coaching and directing small and large ensembles.
The role requires the ability to teach across a range of musical styles, develop improvisation skills, and foster creativity, confidence and collaboration. Applicants should demonstrate strong musicianship, including aural training, notation, composition and arranging, alongside a passion for nurturing young people in an inclusive, student-centred environment.
