Job Description

Tyne Theatre & Opera House is seeking passionate and experienced practitioners to join the Tyne Youth Company (TYC) Artistic Team for the 2026-27 season.

We are recruiting three facilitators specialising in Drama, Voice and Dance to inspire and develop young performers aged 7-17.

Working collaboratively, you will plan and deliver engaging weekly Saturday sessions that develop performance skills, confidence and creativity in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Facilitators will also help prepare members for performances throughout the year, including TYC’s annual production and other performance opportunities.

Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire and equip our members with a broad understanding of the theatre world, helping them discover their unique passions. TYC is a supportive and dynamic space where young performers ages 7-17 are able to grow, learn and shine. We strive to make performing arts accessible to all, ensuring opportunities for people of all backgrounds to participate. Through accessible events and community engagement, TYC contributes to Newcastle’s cultural growth, revitalising the West End and supporting the Theatre’s long-term legacy.

Members of the TYC Artistic Team will work together to produce a teaching schedule that offers high-quality engagement across the academic year. The core engagement will be in drama, singing and dance, taught weekly on rotation.
