Job Summary
Job Description
We are seeking two individuals to bring key skills to the Board and are keen to hear from candidates with relevant experience.
The first one, here, is in communications – marketing, digital engagement and PR to strengthen the charity’s public profile, broaden its reach, and increase awareness and impact.
The second, see our other advertised position, is in museum curation, heritage interpretation, and visitor experience to help guide the charity’s work in conserving, presenting, and sharing the RYH with the public.
Trustees are normally appointed for an initial term of three years. As it can take time to settle into the role and make a meaningful contribution, we ask that applicants feel able to commit to at least this period. Trustees may be reappointed for up to three terms, for a maximum of nine years of service.
How much time will I need to devote to being a Trustee at RYH?
In a typical year, Trustees are expected to:
– Attend approximately four Board meetings per year (around two hours each)
– Read papers and prepare in advance of meetings
– Take part in additional meetings or discussions, online or in person
– Attend events, e.g. fundraising, when possible
We anticipate the time commitment to total around 3-4 days a month.
