Job Description
As part of Southwark Music Service, joint lead partner in the South East London Music Hub, provide music education provision of the highest quality as part our commitment to deliver the aims and strategic functions of the National Plan for Music Education.
Build on our existing relationships with schools, music organisations and practitioners and form new partnerships to ensure we continue to provide the very best music education for the young people of our community.
To support and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, creating engaging, relevant and accessible resources and content for Southwark Music.
About the Role:
This role plays a central part in delivering high-quality communications across Southwark Music.
You will:
Lead on internal and external communications, ensuring consistency and alignment with organisational priorities
Plan and deliver targeted communication campaigns for key projects
Produce engaging and accessible content across multiple platforms, including website, social media, email, and digital channels
Act as a key point of contact for communication within the service
Support strategic objectives by connecting schools, young people, families and partners through effective messaging
You will work under the leadership of the Head of Southwark Music and be expected to work independently while managing competing priorities.
About You:

You will demonstrate:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in managing digital content and communication channels.
Ability to plan and deliver targeted campaigns.
Confidence working independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
A collaborative approach and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Strong communications and digital skills, including
managing websites, social media, design and ICT tools.
Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of social
media platforms and their use in music education settings.
Knowledge and implementation of GDPR privacy policy
Understanding of the importance of equity, diversity and
inclusion in music education.
Experience:
Experience of developing and delivering communication
plans or campaigns.
Experience of creating digital and print communications
materials.
Awareness of, or experience supporting, fundraising,
promotion, or income-generating initiatives.
Experience of working with stakeholders to communicate
key messages through a range of media.
Aptitudes, Skills & Competencies:
Ability to plan, design, write and moderate content to
engage audiences with Southwark Music activities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate
positively and effectively with all stakeholders.
