Job Description
Wardrobe supervising productions as allocated by the Head of Course
Day-to-day management of the East 15 wardrobe department (inc. stock) in Colchester
Providing input and collaboration with the wider team (inc. Lighting/ Sound & AV) on East 15 productions.
Supporting East 15 productions, across the production cycle, inc. Get ins, Get Outs, across all East 15 facilities, venues and hired venues.
Assisting as required, in other technical departments and supporting other members of the technical team.
Act as Duty cover for a selection of East 15 productions.
Maintaining close contact with the professional world and diverse communities and reflecting changes in current theory and practice.
Attending all relevant meetings to fulfill your role within East 15
Working within all recognised Health and Safety regulations, with responsibility for Health and Safety within the Costume operation and wardrobe departments
Advise on relevant provisions for the writing and update Risk assessments and work within all recognised Health and Safety regulations as required by the Head of Course.
To contribute to the making of costumes and costume sourcing for East 15 productions
Assist as required in supporting the wider technical provision and support other members of the technical team.
Responsible for the financial administration and coordination of buying and ordering within the costume department.
Working at the Colchester campus at East 15 and other locations as required for special projects.
Driving East 15 vehicles as requested.
Mentoring students within your specialism and demonstrating equipment and tools as required.
Providing information and input opinions on student work for final assessment by the Head of Course.
Demonstrating and mentoring students undertaking production roles across rehearsal and production periods.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of East 15 or their nominee.
Job Requirements
Skills and qualifications required.
Experience of professional theatre working environments is essential, and previous work within an educational setting is desirable.
The candidate will have relevant professional links, strong organisational skills, and technical knowledge to support the maintenance and upkeep of wardrobe equipment.
The right candidate should have a hands-on ability and experience in differing costume styles, material and making techniques, demonstrating outstanding integration of theatre and workroom health and safety considerations in their working methods alongside the ability to collaborate with directors, designers, facilitators and guest groups.
