Dance Tutor: Salsa

Midlands Arts Centre’s Learning and Participation programme is extensive with over 150 term courses and a wide selection of short courses for children, young people, and adults. Our courses cover many subjects, from visual arts and crafts to digital arts, performance, music, and wellbeing.

We are looking for a Dance Tutor to teach 2 dance courses – Learn to Salsa and Salsa Improvers from 1st June 2026. The teaching time is between 6:45pm and 9pm on Monday evenings for 12 weeks per term and the rate of pay is £22.26 per hour.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about dance and informal learning experiences and who enjoys teaching others.

You are required to be reliable, personable, and flexible, to cater for each student’s personal goals and aims.

The successful candidate will be part of a large team of Artist Tutors who help us deliver a vibrant and dynamic programme of informal learning.

Overall Job Purpose

We are looking for someone to deliver both dance courses for the second block of Summer Term 2026 with the view to continue in a permanent role.

Additional responsibilities as follows:
– You will need to devise clear a course structure to enable progression of learning, and the ability to adapt to each participant’s needs.
– Ensuring the course is delivered as per the course description.
Teaching students to the agreed level for the course (e.g., beginner/ improver/advanced).
– Continuous reflection and evaluation on the course, and quality of delivery.
– Work within MAC’s policies with specific attention to Safeguarding and Health & Safety.
