Rosetta Arts
Job Summary
Job Description
Rosetta Arts is seeking a compassionate, proactive Youth Support Worker to join the delivery team for our Art Superstars programme-an inclusive creative wellbeing initiative designed for children and young people in Newham, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL), or other barriers to learning. Art Superstars provides inclusive visual arts experiences that promote confidence, communication, creativity, and mental wellbeing through both school-based and out-of-school sessions, including family workshops.
As Youth Support Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring children are fully supported to participate, engage, and thrive in the programme. You’ll work directly with participants in 1:1 and small group settings, supporting accessibility, behaviour, and wellbeing-while contributing to reflective practice, evaluation, and co-design.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of a level 3 youth work practice qualification or equivalent experience
- Youth work with diverse needs: Proven experience supporting children/young people (9-16), including SEND, EAL, and those facing barriers to learning-in schools and/or community settings.
- Inclusive facilitation: Confident delivering/assisting small-group and 1:1 sessions; skilled in behaviour support, de-escalation, and creating safe, trauma-informed spaces.
- Mental health awareness: Practical strategies to build resilience, reduce stigma, and support wellbeing; able to design/lead group coaching activities.
- Safeguarding: Up-to-date knowledge of child protection, GDPR and H&S; Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain) and commitment to reporting procedures.
- Co-design mindset: Experience collaborating with young people, artists and teachers to adapt sessions for accessibility and engagement.
- Cultural competence: Able to build trust with Newham’s diverse communities; sensitive to lived experience
