Job Description
We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Young People Producer – Learning & Engagement to work with young people across Bath and North East Somerset, creating opportunities through fashion, heritage and creativity.
This role will utilise the transformative power of fashion and our collection to engage young people and co-create programmes that reflect their interests, aspirations and experiences. A particular focus will be working with young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), helping them build confidence, develop transferable skills, and explore pathways into further education, training and employment.
Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this role will lead community outreach activity and work closely with local partners to deliver an ambitious pre-opening programme in the lead-up to the museum’s reopening.
This is an exciting opportunity to help ensure that young people play a central role in shaping the future of Fashion Museum Bath.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and creating meaningful opportunities for participation and personal development.
You will have:
Proven experience of delivering community outreach work with young people aged 16-24, particularly those who are NEET.
Experience of co-designing and co-producing creative programmes and projects with young people.
Experience of supporting young people to develop skills, confidence and progression routes into education, training or employment.
Excellent partnership-building and communication skills.
A strong commitment to inclusion, participation and meaningful engagement with young people.
Job Requirements
Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering youth engagement and participation programmes within a cultural, heritage, community, education or visitor attraction setting.
Strong understanding of youth engagement, participation, and co-production/co design/co-creation and connecting people with the Fashion Museum’s collection
Demonstrable experience of co-designing, co-producing and delivering programmes, projects or events with and for young people aged 16-24.
Proven experience of working with young people who face barriers to participation, including those who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
Experience of partnership working with schools, colleges, youth services, community organisations, voluntary-sector partners
Experience of supporting young people to develop confidence, skills and pathways into further education, training, volunteering or employment
Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills
