Theatre in Flow
Job Summary
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced freelance Stage Manager to join our team on our next show ‘We are still Asafo’.
‘We are still Asafo’, written and directed by Liz Mytton, creative director at TIF, is a theatre show performing at Loading Bay, a temporary black box theatre space, as part of Bradford 2025. This new show draws inspiration from the experiences of the African diaspora across West Africa, the Caribbean, and the UK. Utilizing Ghanaian flag-making traditions and rituals, the performance honours the journeys of our communities and our shared ancestral connections, exploring how these links can offer guidance in our present times.
We’re looking for an experienced Stage Manager to lead the rehearsal, and on-site technical and communications delivery of ‘We are still Asafo’.
The Stage Manager will be responsible for building the show, preparing the prompt book, leading technical rehearsals, and calling all performances with precision. Beyond the show itself, you’ll act as the key liaison between cast, crew, creatives, and producers, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and resolving any challenges that arise.
The ideal candidate is technically literate across lighting, sound, and staging, and is calm and confident in managing a small team, made up of UK and international artists including a community chorus. You will work with the director/producers to ensure the comfortability of the cast and smooth running of rehearsals, tech and show delivery.
