Job Summary

Do you love being outdoors and working with children? We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to assist weekly at our allotment. You don’t need gardening experience, just a positive attitude, willingness to help, and a love for nature and children.

Job Description

Your role will include:

  • Supporting lead gardeners with sessions
  • Helping children with planting and gardening tasks
  • Being a familiar, trusted presence each week
  • Arriving 30 minutes before and staying to help clean up after sessions

You’ll need a DBS check and safeguarding training, which we will cover the cost for. We ask for consistency so children can build trusted relationships.

You are welcome to volunteer for more than 2 hours a week if you wish.

Job Requirements

  • DBS check & safeguarding training (cost covered by the project)

  • Friendly and enthusiastic about working with children and the outdoors

  • Able to work as part of a team, supporting gardeners and children in activities

  • Commitment to a minimum of 2 hours per week (more if they wish)

  • Reliability, so children can build a trusted relationship
