Job Description

As our Volunteer and Fundraising Coordinator, you will:

  • Lead fundraising efforts and design strategies that support EdShift’s mission.
  • Build meaningful relationships with donors, local businesses, and community groups.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers, ensuring their experience is positive and fulfilling.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising events and campaigns, from small community activities to larger-scale initiatives.
  • Keep accurate records of donations, volunteer involvement, and fundraising activity.
  • Report on progress, successes, and challenges to the team and board.

This role will suit someone who is:

  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and confident in event planning.
  • Experienced in fundraising and/or volunteer management (paid or voluntary).
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small, passionate team.
  • Comfortable using relevant software and databases (training can be provided).
  • Passionate about EdShift’s mission and motivated to support children and young people.

Job Requirements

The Volunteer and Fundraising Coordinator will:

  • Lead and develop an enriching delivery plan to increase community engagement, stakeholder events, and community arts activities that drive support and interest in EdShiftacross Calderdale and neighbouring communities.
  • Build and strengthen EdShift’s volunteer base, ensuring volunteers feel valued, supported, and connected to our mission.
  • Develop and implement creative fundraising strategies that increase EdShift’s sustainability and allow us to reach more children and young people.
  • Engage children and young people on an individual and community basis, supporting their right to achieve their full potential, physical, intellectual, emotional, and social wellbeing, while recognising and respecting different cultural backgrounds.
  • Operate in accordance with the policies and procedures of EdShift.
  • Develop and deliver creative fundraising strategies to generate income, including online campaigns, community appeals, corporate sponsorships,
