Job Description

We are seeking new members to join our Board of Trustees. As a trustee, you will be passionate and dedicated to our vision to ensure everyone can thrive and achieve through music and the arts. You’ll also have in-depth understanding of:

  • Our region: its opportunities and challenges, key stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers
  • Our activity:
    • young people and vulnerable adults
    • music and arts – for education and achievement
    • music and arts – for therapy and healthcare, wellbeing, inclusion and social prescribing

You’ll use your knowledge of these areas to be proactive in driving WEMA forward so it can achieve more for those we serve. You’ll contribute to the strategic oversight, governance, and leadership of the charity, ensuring it delivers its charitable objectives effectively and sustainably. You’ll play a key role in guiding the charity’s growth, safeguarding its assets, and upholding its reputation.

You’ll likely be local to our region, though our meetings are mostly online, so if you think you’re a good fit but not local, apply anyway.

We are particularly keen to recruit trustees with lived experience of those who benefit most from the Charitie’s work, such as those who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQAI+ or those who face traditional barriers to access and participation.

You may have experience as a trustee or being a board member, but if you don’t, we provide support, training and induction to ensure you can be confident and successful in the role.

We are interesting to hear from anyone who can help drive our Charity forwards, though we are specifically seeking experience in legal, finance and social prescribing/third sector creative arts.
