Poetry London
Job Summary
Job Description
Poetry London seeks new non-executive members to join the Board of Trustees, to advise, guide and support the organisation to achieve its artistic vision and commercial objectives.
We are looking for individuals with skills in the following areas:
- fundraising
- marketing
- legal and copyright
- finance and accounting
We are also seeking poet-trustees with a wide and diverse network of contacts in contemporary poetry, the arts, events organising or publishing. In addition, we would be interested in hearing from candidates with the experience to chair the board of trustees.
This is a particularly exciting time, with broadening audiences and increased media coverage bringing new readers to the world of poetry. We have Arts Council NPO status and will seek to renew it in the coming years. Poetry London has for three decades been a place where great poetry happens, bringing together the emerging and the established to an international audience. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference to the landscape of contemporary poetry, to bring your skills and experience to support us in the next stages of our development.
The Board meets four times a year, three times online, and once in person for an annual away day, and members are also invited to attend our launches at the Southbank Centre, in collaboration with the National Poetry Library and at other venues in London and throughout the UK. Trustees are not remunerated, but we can cover reasonable expenses.
