Job Summary

East Street Arts is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of a dynamic, artist-led organisation.

Job Description

East Street Arts is a charity based in Leeds, supporting artists through affordable workspace, sector development and public programmes. Our vision is simple: artists will create positive change. You can find out more about our work at eaststreetarts.org.uk/about, and find out more about the board of trustees at eaststreetarts.org.uk/staff

We’re looking for people with a range of lived and professional experience, particularly in areas such as finance, business development, people management, property, and those with strong connections to communities in Leeds.

You don’t need to have been a Trustee before. We welcome applications from people currently underrepresented in governance roles.

Job Requirements

We are looking for new Trustees who are committed to supporting artists and strengthening the role of the arts in society. You do not need prior board experience. We welcome people with a wide range of lived and professional experience, particularly in finance, business development, people management, property, or with strong connections to communities in Leeds.

You will bring good judgement, a collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to strategic discussions. An understanding of the arts, charity or community sector is helpful but not essential.

We actively encourage applications from people who are currently underrepresented in leadership roles, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities, disabled people, people from global majority backgrounds, and those connected to Harehills, Chapeltown, Burmantofts, Mabgate, Lincoln Green and Beeston.

How to Apply

Please see our ‘become a trustee’ webpage, linked below, which includes the full trustee pack and more information about applications. Please apply before midnight on the 31 May 2026.
