Job Summary
To lead in the Stage Management department and support technical, artistic and creative teams in all aspects of production. Dates: February – December 2026
Job Description
- To manage rehearsals smoothly and efficiently including marking out studios, operating technical equipment in rehearsal, and managing props and set
- To ensure clear communication of information between rehearsals and all relevant parties including props, set, lighting and wardrobe
- To keep accurate and up to date records of all rehearsal and performance paperwork
- To understand and work within relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures
- To attend production planning meetings and any other meetings as required
- To run the stage manager track for all scheduled performances and run and manage the stage during show calls and performance
- To run and oversee the weekly load out of the venue, taking lead on the stage load out and ensuring all departments have successfully loaded out of the venue.
- To look ahead at venues to come and raise any concerns or questions.
- To be responsible for managing the health and safety of the show team during performance
- To oversee the reset and to assist in the management of pre-show checks, warm ups etc
- To collate technical information and build accurate and detailed show reports to distribute to wider technical and creative teams
- To manage the day to day running of the stage management department
- To lead on the installation of the onstage bar and system
- To build rotas for the technical teams, and to ensure all tracks are adequately covered.
- To manage the learning and support the technical swing and train deps to the show
- To ensure all SM team have the relevant specialist training in conjunction with the Company Manager
- To communicate with the Production Manager regarding any props or set fixes if necessary
- To lead on sourcing replacements or replenishments of props, either through the props supervisor or independently
- Reports to Company Manager
Job Requirements
- Experience in a stage management position preferably within a UK tour
- Strong cross departmental communication
- Strong administration and organisational skills
