Technical Manager

You will work closely with the Production Manager and be responsible for the delivery of all technical equipment and production requirements for all performances & events throughout Anvil Arts venues. You will undertake the role of Technical Stage Manager & act as the primary point of contact for the visiting company & house crew on a day-to-day basis & will be responsible for coordinating & working with the team on fit ups, get outs & venue format changes.

The Key Objectives of this post are;

• to work with the Production Manager & team & be responsible for the delivery of all technical equipment & production requirements for performances & events

• to be committed to ensuring the highest standards of technical production presentation & service, with the aim of delivering an experience that delights & is above expectation

• to deputise for the Production Manager in their absence

• to line manage & train the Casual Production Technicians ensuring essential skills & development

• to take an active lead in the development & implementation of safe working practices, procedures, & training for the Production Technicians ensuring a skilled & motivated team

• to research implement & oversee plans for technical upgrades in collaboration with Production Manager & Chief Technicians to ensure venues remain technically relevant

• to take an active lead in maintenance, servicing, & inspection of production technical equipment along with overseeing upgrades within all venues

• to act as a primary point of contact and undertake the role of Venue Stage Manager for the visiting company & house crew on a day-to-day-basis

• to act as the Stage Manager for the Panto season & take an active lead in its planning & setup in conjunction with the Production Manager

• to assist the Production Manager and Production Administrator in pre-production planning for performances & events to include the months & seasons ahead

• to act as an out of hours key holder
