Technical Assistant Stage Manager – The Paddington Bear Experience

The Stage Management and Technical Show teams are responsible for the technical and manual operations and resetting of the experience including set, props, lighting and sound systems as well as a bespoke show operation software. The Technical Assistant Stage Managers will also undertake ‘show control’ duties, managing emergency responses and monitoring audience traffic and behaviour throughout the experience. They will assist in daily ‘powering up and down’, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the live experience under tight time-pressure, in pulse format.

Place of Work: Based at The Paddington Bear Experience, County Hall

Hours of work: Part time (hours may vary)

• For any hours worked undertaking Reset and Game Room Operation duties, you will be paid the pro rata equivalent of £561.20 per 40 hour week. Contracts start at 16 hours per week.
• For any hours worked undertaking Show Control responsibilities in a live show setting, you will be paid the pro rata equivalent of £663.20 per 40 hour week.
• This is a self-employed fixed term contract, with holiday and SSP. During your contract, you may be invited to express interest in future work, but further contracts are not guaranteed
• Holiday embargoes: To ensure sufficient staffing, and parity across the crew pool in key periods, leave embargoes will be in place from: 30 March 2026 to 12 April 2026 (inclusive), 23 May 2026 to 29 May 2026 (inclusive), 22 June 2026 to 05 July 2026 (inclusive), 24 October 2026 to 30 October 2026 (inclusive), and 09 November 2026 to 22 November 2026 (inclusive) during which time we will not be considering any holiday or NA requests.
• Please note that all Bank Holidays are considered normal working days.
• You will be expected to be comfortable and able to move in rat runs and tight spaces within the experience.
