Job Description
This role requires you to be an organised self-starter who is able to work as part of a team. Excellent practical skills, health and safety awareness, and attention to detail are essential.
The post also requires frequent manual handling and working at height. Training will be available to build additional skills.
The post-holder will work to maintain a renowned and high-quality exhibition programme in line with our current status as a National Portfolio Organisation.
Job Requirements
1. To ensure a high standard of presentation in the Arts and Culture exhibition and display programme including:
a) Preparation and maintenance of exhibition spaces including assisting with packing and unpacking of exhibits.
b) Provide support for multimedia, film and video works including installation and ongoing maintenance during the exhibition.
c) Liaison with curatorial staff and exhibiting artists and organisations in the presentation of exhibitions, including making required items for displays and organising work.
d) Assisting in the hanging and lighting of exhibitions and events in conjunction with the Technical Officer and under instruction of the curatorial team.
e) Provision of technical support to artists with installations, residencies or workshops.
f) Preparation of exhibits for display, including minor restoration/ conservation, cleaning, mounting and framing.
g) To prepare exhibition spaces ready for installation, where necessary.
