Job Summary

This newly created position will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of all technical and building services at Pegasus. Have at least three years’ experience as a technician in an arts venue along with practical experience of managing buildings and a thorough knowledge of H+S

Job Description

The Technical and Building Manager is a new post within Pegasus. They are responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of all technical services for artists, participants and audiences. They are responsible for the management and general upkeep of the building and all its spaces and will act as Health and Safety lead for the organisation.

Key Objectives
To ensure that the highest possible technical and artistic standards are achieved within the allocated resources
To ensure that our building and facilities are provision of facilities are safe, welcoming and fit for purpose for all our users
To lead on effective statutory and regulatory compliance within the organisation.

Job Requirements

Passionate about the impact that the arts have on the lives of children, young people and their families and a commitment to ensuring that ALL children have access to creative opportunities
A minimum of three years professional technical experience within a building-based arts venue, providing a technical service to visiting companies and community organisations
A commitment and understanding of the “can-do, hands-on approach” necessary in a small but busy team
A thorough working knowledge of the equipment, usage, operation, maintenance and safety requirements of lighting, sound and AV systems
Knowledge of health and safety and the implementation and control of applicable legislation
Experience of writing and implementing risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work
Experience of leading technical and production teams including the ability to run a fit up and get out
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
