Job Summary

We are looking for a Sound No 1 for 14 Again, a musical by Victoria Wood at the Menier Chocolate Factory. There are 3 in the cast with a 4 piece band.

Job Description

The Sound No 1 plays a critical role in ensuring the successful operation of the sound systems for each performance. This position involves the mixing the show, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all sound equipment.

Dates – Monday 9th November 2026 – Saturday 27th February 2027

Performance Schedule
Tuesday – Friday: 7:30 PM
Saturday: 3:00 PM & 7:30 PM
Sunday: 3:00 PM

Christmas Schedule.
24th, 25th, 26th Dec – No Show
27th Dec – 2 shows
28th Dec – Evening show
29th Dec – 2 Shows
30th Dec – Evening Show
31st Dec – Matinee Show
1st Jan – No show
2nd Jan – 2 Shows.

Rate of Pay – £875 per week buy-out contract based on max 40 hour, 7 show week including Sunday. PAYE contract. Holiday pay is accrued and paid at the end of the run.

Job Requirements

Proven experience as Sound No 1 in live performance or theatre.
Proficient In QLab
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
A strong understanding of health and safety standards in performance environments.
