Job Summary

Stagecoach Kings Heath is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced singing teacher to deliver engaging singing lessons on a Performing Arts rotation with Dance and Drama on Saturday mornings 9.30am-1pm (36 sessions across 3 terms).

Job Description

It is vital that you enjoy the challenge of teaching singing to groups of children (approx 15-18 in a group) in 3 aged-groupings, whilst having the ability to nurture individual voices.

Ideally you have a wealth of knowledge of singing styles and teaching strategies to offer our students and aid their developing technical skills. With lots of opportunities to develop performances in school and at regional/national events, we require a singing teacher who has a strong creative vision and is confident managing groups of students.

Familiarity with Musical Theatre is an asset but not necessary. We are looking for a teacher who has a love of singing and music, and a genuine dedication to helping children to grow in confidence and ability. If this sounds like you and you are an imaginative, honest, reliable, and professional team member – we can’t wait to meet you!

Applicants will need to undergo a DBS check (unless already registered on the update service) and commit to our Child Protection policy, including completing short Safeguarding CPDs.

It is essential that you can commit to a full academic year.

Great rate of pay (£26 p/h). Required from January 2026

Job Requirements

  • Experience of teaching children – ideally 7-16yrs
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies – support can be given
  • Experience and confidence with managing groups of students – usually no more than 18 in a class
  • Good organisation, planning skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Excellent understanding of safe working practices and Safeguarding essentials: a current Enhanced DBS is great, but this is something we can arrange.
  • Willingness to work as a team to create high standard outcomes
