Job Description
Stephen Joseph Theatre (SJT) is looking to recruit a skilled Senior Technician to join our busy Production team. The role will involve working across productions, get-ins, get-outs, fit-ups, performances and maintenance, with opportunities to develop and use a broad range of technical skills.
We are looking for a dedicated, practical and skilled technician who is confident working as part of a team, has a good eye for detail and is keen to contribute to the high-quality productions and welcoming, collaborative working culture we have become known for.
This a permanent, full-time contract based in Scarborough.

To contribute to the safe and efficient rigging and striking of lighting/ sound/ video/ technical
and other relevant equipment.
To assist actively with the training of new/younger members of the technical department
To supervise and induct casual and freelance technical staff
To oversee and carry out agreed training programs alongside Technical Manager.
To carry out pre-show preparation of lighting/ sound/ video/ technical and other relevant
equipment.
To focus, program and operate lighting
To carry out live and/or recorded sound operation.
To carry out pre-show checks and setting up for performances.
To create lighting/ sound/ technical effects and practicals.
To read and interpret rig plans, ground plans and elevations.
To assist in the maintenance of all lighting/ sound/ video equipment.
