Job Description
This role combines museum visitor engagement with retail responsibilities and would suit someone with previous experience of working in a museum, gallery or cultural venue. Strong customer service and sales skills in a retail/cultural environment are essential. Part time / 1 day a week.
Job Requirements
Essential:
-Previous retail experience using POS systems, e.g. Lightspeed and Shopify, in a customer-facing environment
-Professional, approachable and confident dealing with museum visitors and customers
-Ability to work weekends
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Excellent communication skills with visitors and colleagues
-Ability to contribute to a positive work environment
-Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and also independently
-Experience in visitor engagement or public-facing roles
-A proactive and helpful approach to customer service
Desirable:
-Experience in a retail operation of a museum, gallery or cultural venue
-Interest in museums, arts and culture, as well as in creative retail and artisanal products
-Open to sharing ideas with the buying/events team on new products and workshops that could be hosted in-store
-Experience in fulfilling online orders
-Experience working with artists, designers, makers or independent brands
