The V&A is a family of museums dedicated to the power of creativity. Our mission is to champion design and creativity in all its forms, advance cultural knowledge, and inspire makers, creators and innovators everywhere. We share a 5,000-year-old story of creativity through exhibitions, events, educational programmes, digital experiences, conservation, research, and an ever-evolving national collection of over 2.8m objects spanning every creative discipline.

The Development department is critical in enabling the Museum to realise its ambitions. The Directors Circle and Young Patrons Circle are dynamic routes for the cultivation of senior philanthropic partnerships via two ambitious programmes of private tours, events, and international study trips. The Development Partnerships, Philanthropy and Grants teams successfully ensure that funds are secured for acquisitions, exhibitions, curator posts and learning, while the Venue Hire and Brand & Image Licensing teams raise essential unrestricted funding to support core Museum operations. In May 2025 the V&A will open the first of two new sites in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – V&A East Storehouse – beginning a new phase of design programming in the Capital.
