hoot creative arts
Job Summary
We are seeking an exemplary project manager with a desire to affect positive change in the lives of individuals in specialist criminal justice settings through participatory music making and songwriting.
Job Description
Hours: 2.0 days/week (14 hours 48 minutes) permanent dependent on project demands and funding. Flexible & agile working arrangements. Contract: Permanent dependent on continued commissioning. Currently ends 31 March 2029 with 2 additional year extension pending confirmed budget for commissioners. This vacancy specifically involves managing ongoing delivery in criminal justice settings in the North region with potential for scale up of delivery across the South region using research dissemination to promote interest. (Pending research dissemination and interest & additional capacity to deliver) You will want to make a positive and effective contribution to social justice and health inequalities through provision of high-quality creative activities within specialist criminal justice settings. You will have a proactive producer mindset to manage our programme of delivery within specialist criminal justice settings. Music in Criminal Justice sits inside complex systems (prisons, hospitals, commissioning structures) but it is, at heart, an arts-led, relational programme. This role is not just about scheduling. It is about: Holding relationships. Protecting the creative ethos. Navigating institutional environments. Supporting freelance artists. Translating between commissioners, settings and practitioners. Making good judgement calls under pressure. The role requires emotional intelligence as much as logistical skill.
Job Requirements
The Project Manager focus is to deliver projects, improve internal delivery / monitoring systems, strategic alignment and processes to support positive outcomes for participants and make a positive and effective contribution to social justice and health inequalities through access to high quality creative activities. You are curious and love planning and collaborating with colleagues from a range of internal & external teams, stakeholders and disciplines. You relish the chance to envision projects that have the potential to produce system change within the arts, health and social care. Your role includes supporting and helping, as well as challenging and encouraging. You want to know everything that is happening, and you use your initiative to troubleshoot problems before or when they arise, but not to micro manage. You’re passionate about seeing how the details add up to a significant positive impact on people’s lives.
