Job Summary
Job Description
Junction Arts is seeking a proactive and well organised Project Coordinator to help deliver our exciting programme of community arts projects and festivals across Chesterfield, Bolsover, and North East Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts, community engagement, and creative collaboration.
Working closely with our Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will play a key role in coordinating projects from start to finish, ensuring that activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You’ll support artists, community partners, and participants to ensure that every project reflects Junction Arts’ mission to use the arts as a catalyst for positive change.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scheduling, and coordination; maintaining project documentation and budgets; liaising with suppliers and artists; and supporting marketing and social media activity. You’ll also help evaluate projects by collecting feedback and contributing to reports that demonstrate impact.
The role involves working directly with communities to facilitate creative sessions and provide on-the-ground event support. As a key member of our team, you’ll attend events, meetings, and workshops, occasionally during evenings and weekends. This position requires flexibility, a strong sense of initiative, and excellent administrative skills.
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) based at our Chesterfield office, with the option for up to two days per week working from home. Salary starts at £24,600 per annum, with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and statutory pension. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving licence.
Job Requirements
You’ll have at least two years’ experience coordinating arts or community projects and a solid understanding of community engagement and safeguarding. Excellent organisational and IT skills (Word, Excel) are essential, along with strong communication and teamwork abilities. You should be confident working independently and managing multiple projects at once. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion are vital. A full UK driving licence and access to transport are required due to the rural nature of our work. Knowledge of the Derbyshire region and experience working with communities with low arts engagement are desirable.
