Production Manager – Stories of Breath

Stories of Breath is an immersive craft and storytelling installation engaging community audiences with asthma, asthma research and the impact of asthma on people’s lives.

Stories of Breath is the culmination of Women and Asthma, a three-year public engagement project led by Imperial College London in partnership with three craft organisations: The Sewing Rooms (Skelmersdale), Craftspace (Birmingham) and Stitches in Time (Tower Hamlets).

We would like to work with a production manager to oversee the practical preparation, get-in, get-out and smooth running of the Stories of Breath community engagement installation and events in September 2025. Events include invited previews, public drop-in sessions and schools workshops.

You must be available for online planning meetings in August and be on site at venues on 4/5/6 September (Skelmersdale), 11/12/13 September (Tower Hamlets) and 25/26/27 September (Birmingham).

The venues are:

• The Concourse Shopping Centre, Skelmersdale
• Tower Hamlets Town Hall
• The Library of Birmingham

The role includes:

• Working with the lead artist and creative producer in August to plan events
• Driving a hired van from Bristol to each set of events and returning to Bristol following each event period
• Supporting the lead artist to construct the installation and set-up engagement activities
• Contributing to risk assessments and overseeing adherence to risk assessments
• Maintaining the the installation during events
• Overseeing health and safety during events

This role has a fixed fee of £1800. Agreed travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses will be covered in addition to the fee.
