Job title: Deputy Head of Lighting
Responsible for: LX Technician
Reports to: Head of LX
Salary: SOLT/BECTU minimum
Probationary Period: 12 weeks
Contract: Initially fixed term, thereafter open-ended for the life of the production. Performances are 6 days per week, evening and weekend work will be required
Terms and conditions: As per the SOLT/BECTU agreement
Start date: Monday 2nd November 2026
Performance schedule: Monday to Saturday evening performances (at 7:30pm) and 2:30pm matinees on Thursday and Saturday.

Job Responsibilities
Under the supervision of your Head of Department, maintaining the production as instructed and dictated by the artistic requirements and direction of the production;
Working alongside your team, other technical departments, Company Stage Management, stage management, the acting company, resident creative team members and theatre staff to ensure the efficient flow of information as necessary for the smooth running of the show;
Assisting with the operation and maintenance of all equipment used by your department, including equipment checks prior to each performance, as requested by your Head of Department;
Deputising for the Head of Lighting in their absence, if requested;
Assisting in the day-to-day management of the Lighting department;
working with the Head of Department to supervise all technical staff during performances and rehearsals and ensuring that staff are adequately briefed and/or rehearsed to run rehearsals and performances efficiently.
