Part-time temporary small group cello tutor (mat cover)

Temporary weekly small group cello teaching for Autumn Term 2025 (Tuesdays from 14th September 2025 – 9th December with a break on Tuesday 28th October))

Blackheath Conservatoire is recruiting for one term (maternity leave cover) of small group beginner cello teaching (max of 6 children per group, very often less) on our Play! course:

Pay rate: £33 p/h on a freelance basis:

• Play! Cello (6-9yrs), Tuesday 16.15 – 17.00 (plus 15 mins extra time) £33 (12 week term £396)

• Play! Together Orchestra (6-9yrs), Tuesday 17.00 – 17.45 £24.75 (12 week term £297)

• Play! Cello (6-9yrs), Tuesday 17.45 – 18.30 (plus 15 mins extra time) £33 (12 week term £396)

  Total fee per day: £90.75

Experience of teaching children and/or groups is desirable and applicants who can attend a paid training day on Sunday 7th September will be given priority.

We anticipate holding interviews in the week beginning 14th July. Interested candidates may be able to observe classes on Tuesdays 1st/8th/15th July – please get in touch.
