Job Summary

Inspire Youth Arts have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Officer to join the team. The role manages the daily operation at Inspire Youth Arts’ base The Old Library, Mansfield and will support the effective delivery of events and activities at the building, including external building hire.

Job Description

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of working in a customer centred environment with the public and young people and should have knowledge of building-based health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate should be able to work under their own initiative, have good organisational skills and be able to work successfully as part of the Inspire Youth Arts team.

The role requires flexible working, with a pattern developed to meet the need of activities in the building. Evening and weekend working will be required.

30 hrs per week pro rata. Working pattern to be discussed. Job share would be considered.

Job Purpose

To manage the daily operation of The Old Library, ensuring a consistent & high level of customer experience is delivered and support the Youth Arts Manager in managing, developing & promoting Inspire Youth Arts projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Engage with customers, providing direct help, support, guidance & high-quality customer service to enable them to fully access & benefit from the Inspire Youth Arts offer available at The Old Library or signpost customers to the relevant Inspire Service
  2. Manage the room-hire service including responding to queries, taking & amending bookings, ensuring rooms are prepared as required & completing sales invoicing
  3. Engage with Inspire Youth Arts colleagues, & partners to organise, promote, deliver & report on programmed events & activities

Job Requirements

4. Work flexibly with the Youth Arts Manager to meet business needs & customer demand

5. Induct newly appointed staff, volunteers, & users to work safely within the building

6. Be responsible

-For ensuring opening, locking up & the security of The Old Library & keyholder duties

-For the management of the building, act as Nominated Property Contact (NPC), deal with contractors & reporting any building & operational problems to appropriate colleagues. To ensure compliance with health and safety policies and guidance

-For the reconciliation & banking of cash, cheques, & electronic payments within The Old Library

-For ensuring casual staff pay claims are processed

7. Work in accordance with Inspire policies & procedures, Inspire Brand guidelines, contractual requirements & professional best practice

8. Perform any duties or tasks assigned by management required to meet service needs as appropriate

9. Assume the role of Appointed Person and/or First Aider as required
