Job Description
The Office Manager sits at the heart of Bow Arts’ operations, acting as the key link between departments and leading on HR, governance, IT and administration. This is a hands-on and varied role with real scope to shape and improve the systems that support the organisation.
You will oversee the full spectrum of business administration, managing the day-to-day running of the office, supporting senior leadership, and coordinating cross-departmental activity. This includes ensuring policies and procedures are current, effective and embedded across the organisation. You will also act as the primary administrative support to the Board of Trustees, including organising meetings, preparing papers and taking minutes.
The role involves working closely with colleagues across all departments to ensure the smooth running of operations. You will lead on HR processes including recruitment, induction, staff records and payroll coordination, as well as maintaining relationships with external suppliers such as IT support and service providers. You will also support governance requirements, including statutory reporting and policy development.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, enjoys building efficient systems and takes pride in enabling a busy team to deliver its best. You will need to be highly organised, proactive and confident managing a varied workload.
Bow Arts is a friendly and fast-paced organisation with a team of 29 staff based at our Bow Road office.
Salary: £32,523

Job Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role, with knowledge of office management, HR and governance, and a willingness to learn where needed. Experience developing policies, procedures and working practices. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, including drafting reports and meeting minutes.
Highly organised and an effective coordinator, with strong attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture. Experience managing projects or programmes and coordinating across teams.
Ability to keep up to date with relevant policy, guidelines and legislation. IT literate, with a good working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and databases. Proactive, hands-on approach and able to manage a varied workload. Available to attend some meetings outside normal working hours.
