Musical Theatre Teacher – Brighton
Rate: £27.50 per hour
Working Hours: 2 hours per week. 4-week course initially, with potential to extend and rerun
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Brighton

Savage Heart Theatre is launching a brand-new Musical Theatre course for adults in Brighton this September, and we’re looking for a dynamic and passionate teacher to lead the way.

We’re seeking someone who can confidently teach singing, dance, and acting to adult beginners in a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment. You’ll be helping students build confidence, develop skills, and express their creativity and love for MT. Many of them exploring musical theatre for the very first time.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience teaching musical theatre to adults, especially beginners

  • Has strong skills across singing, acting, and movement/choreography

  • Can teach vocal technique, harmonies, basic choreography, and acting exercises

  • Brings a warm, encouraging and engaging teaching style

  • Can plan accessible and enjoyable sessions and direct students for future showcases

  • Has a professional background in performance or teaching, and/or a degree in performance

This course will run for 4 weeks initially (2 hours per week) as a trial. If successful, we plan to continue the course throughout the year, with potential to expand into intermediate classes and launch new groups in Worthing and Shoreham.

Job Requirements

  • Experience teaching or directing in Musical Theatre (especially with beginners or adults)

  • Confidence in the core disciplines: singing, dance, acting

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Friendly, encouraging teaching style

  • Reliable and self-sufficient- able to manage a class independently
