Job Description

Following the success of Keble Chapel’s 150th anniversary, and associated increase in musical activity, we are now looking to build upon the tremendous work already achieved in developing the musical life of our college and its choir.

The choir sings three regular chapel services each week of full term (Tuesday Evensong, Thursday Compline, and Sunday Eucharist) and undertakes foreign tours (USA in 2026; Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore in 2025, Italy in 2024), concerts, broadcasts, recordings, and occasional internal events including alumni events, weddings and memorial services. The Chapel houses one of the finest organs in the UK (IV/48 – Tickell / Ruffatti) and hosts a termly organ recital series in additional to occasional recitals.

The Music Administrator role can be divided into four key areas:
– Administrative support to the choir during term and for external engagements
– Assistance in managing external engagements
– Keble Early Music Festival
– Leading on publicity

The Music Administrator also undertakes other tasks required for the efficient administration and support of the choir under the direction of the Director of Music. There may be occasional need to work evenings or weekends, which will be agreed in advance and for which time off will be given in lieu. A reasonable degree of flexibility is required in order to carry out the duties of the role.
