University for the Creative Arts
Job Summary
Job Description
This opportunity will initially be contracted for an average of two days per week from January – April 2026 with the opportunity for further engagement. The comprehensive teaching rate for our Associate Lecturers is anticipated to be £46.50 per hour in academic year 2025/26 and the teaching of this module will include approximately 150 hours of delivery. The purpose of this role is to teach and direct culturally diverse material as well support a group of both home and international students. The role holder will work within a dynamic, practice-led degree programme rooted in ensemble training and contemporary performance-making.
You will be teaching within a vibrant creative environment, where undergraduate and postgraduate acting, film production, animation, music, and theatre and screen design are taught in parallel. While your teaching will at first be focused within the undergraduate acting course, the role benefits from proximity to a diverse and active artistic community.
This opportunity is particularly suited to practitioners who are passionate about developing emerging talent and who bring a culturally expansive perspective to performance training. You will contribute to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space in which all students can develop their craft and explore their creative identity. In return, this post will offer professional development, cultural, and educational benefits.
UCA’s Farnham campus is a welcoming and close-knit creative community, with approximately 3,000 students, and a commitment to diversity and internationalisation. Our BA (Hons) Acting course encourages curiosity, creative risk-taking, and interdisciplinary thinking in an environment that values difference and diversity of voice.
