Job Description
To call follow spot cues for certain performances
To operate follow spot at selected venues
To assist with rig check and maintenance
To support LX 1 in compiling and updating show paperwork
To deputise for LX 1 when necessary
To attend rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get-ins, fit-ups, and get-outs as required by the Company Manager, the LX 1 and the Lighting Designer.
To respond to emergency calls (e.g., equipment failure, risk of performance cancellation)
To work closely with LX 1 to maintain the production as instructed by the creative team
Working in accordance with the Producer’s Health and Safety policy, which may include any training deemed necessary;
Complying at all times with the rules and regulations in force at the venues under the control of the Production;
Having a practical understanding of the Producer’s employment policies and demonstrating a willingness to comply with these policies;
Any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of a LX2 based on industry norms and practice.
Job Requirements
Personal Attributes: We are looking for applicants with previous LX2 experience or experience working in a LX capacity on a new production. The role requires someone who has exceptional people skills and can work in a highly pressured environment. Knowledge and experience of the working practices of a touring production are highly desirable. Last minute cast changes are normal on this production, so applicants must be able to adapt quickly.
