Job Summary

We are looking for a LX NO 1 to join the Lighting team from the end of the Leeds Playhouse run, and to deliver the subsequent UK tour. This will involve a handover process from the Leeds Playhouse Lighting & Video team.

Job Description

To Kill A Mockingbird is a co-production between Leeds Playhouse and Jonathan Church Theatre Productions which will open at Leeds Playhouse and then continue on to a UK tour.

There is an option to be with Leeds Playhouse for pre-production work at the Hire Company w/c 18 August 2025 and participation in the Fit Up at Leeds Playhouse from Tuesday 26 August 2025. This is to be agreed with Production Manager, Lead Production Electrician and Leeds Playhouse.

The post will be one contract with MOCKINGBIRD UK Tour Limited for the UK tour,

Key Contract Dates:

  • 29 September – 4 October 2025 (Leeds Playhouse)

  • 6 October 2025 – 24 May 2026 (UK Tour), with the option to extend the contract for a minimum of 12 weeks to accommodate a West End run.

Job Requirements

  • Strong Experience of ETC EOS Family lighting consoles

  • Strong Experience of Streaming ACN and OSC networks

  • Extensive knowledge of lighting systems and LED technology

  • Experience of LX NO 1 in a UK touring or regional rep theatre production

  • Ability to troubleshoot

  • Ability to adapt work in accordance with performance and venue requirements

  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually

  • Experience of leading a team

  • Confident working at height; good knowledge of safe rigging practice, LOLER etc

  • Strong communication & organization skills, with high level of empathy, integrity and confidentiality

  • A positive can do attitude

  • Calm, confident, understanding & flexible

  • Positive approach to equity, diversity and inclusion, with willingness to train in & develop those areas
