Job Summary

The Cambridge Greek Play is seeking a creative and collaborative Lighting Designer interested in developing the lighting design alongside the Scenographer. The Lighting Designer must also be able to programme the LX board during tech.

Job Description

The Cambridge Greek Play is looking for a lighting designer to work closely alongside the scenographer to develop the lighting design as part of the overall visual language of the production.

A large lighting element will be a significant part of the set and will need to be incorporated into the wider lighting design.

We’re not necessarily looking for someone with extensive experience. We’re more interested in someone who is curious, collaborative and excited to explore and develop the lighting design alongside the scenographer.

The lighting designer will also need to be able to programme the LX board during the technical rehearsals.

Freelance Opportunity.
Guaranteed fee, depending on experience £1500-£2000
(this covers creative meetings and 4 days tech/creation in the venue, hours to be discussed but will probably be from 10am – 22pm)
Travel expenses and accommodation in Cambridge are covered.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a creatively driven, collaborative lighting designer who is comfortable working quickly within a limited creation period. The role involves developing the lighting design closely with the Scenographer, as well as programming the LX board during the technical period. Previous experience is welcome, but extensive experience is not essential.
